The BookFest Awards

Hi everyone!

Last weekend, I was privileged to participate in an author panel discussion at a convention hosted by my local library and it was a blast! I was able to exchange business cards with local authors, support other artsy types and small local businesses, as well as speak with readers face to face. I also had some Chosen by the Masters books sold through the third party seller that was present. Some of my bookmarks and business cards went out in the "swag bags" distributed to every attendee. It was a small event but still a great experience!

On April 6th, I'll be moving onto my next speaking engagement for this year: The BookFest Awards. Now, this convention is for readers and writers alike. Friday has speakers and panel discussions aimed for readers while Saturday is all about writers. This online convention is completely free! There's also a book competition that happens during this convention and the winners will be announced at the end. (I submitted Aurora and the Divine Elevation and am psyched to find out if she placed in the Fantasy Romance category!) There's also a virtual giftbag that everyone gets after the convention is over.

I'll be doing a 10 minute Live Author Chat, which is kind of like a Ted Talk, and then I'll be taking questions afterward. The subject will be "Creating Realistic Couples in Fictional Romance" which sounds fancy but is actually pretty simple. I'm not going to share anything groundbreaking but I do hope to share some old truths in a new and fresh way. I'm looking forward to chatting with other creatives some more and gaining new insight from them as well. It's sure to be a lot of fun. I'd love to see you all there!
